We are currently searching for a full-time Operations Management Trainee (Ideally with a Mechanical Engineering background) to join our team.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Observes experienced staff and gains knowledge about processes, procedures, methods and standards that are required within the business.
- Works with mentors across the Company to learn and grow in competency and knowledge base.
- Performs selflearning tasks as required.
- Organizes and leads work teams, while gaining experience within assigned areas of focus, including scheduling, safety, daily operations and performance management.
- Gains handson experience within all tasks and duties within the operations of the facility.
- Proactively fosters and promotes safe work habits, ensuring all standard safety policies and procedures are being followed.
- Actively participates in various projects within the business.
- Develops SOPs and other documented processes to ensure effective learning and knowledge transfer.
- Rotates through the plant, performing various tasks and duties associate to positions within the facility.
- Assigns work and tasks, while managing staff.
- Reviews, develops and implements continuous improvement projects and preventative maintenance strategies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e. engineering) is required.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong project management skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills required.
- Background and knowledge within manufacturing and lean principles is required.
- Strong leadership skills required.
- Must be able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required. The ability to communicate in multiple languages is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills required.
- Must be able to lead and champion changes.
- Some travel may be required.
