We are currently searching for a full-time Operations Management Trainee (Ideally with a Mechanical Engineering background) to join our team.

This is a training position, that would transition over time into a General Manager position.


Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Observes experienced staff and gains knowledge about processes, procedures, methods and standards that are required within the business.
• Works with mentors across the Company to learn and grow in competency and knowledge base.
• Performs selflearning tasks as required.
• Organizes and leads work teams, while gaining experience within assigned areas of focus, including scheduling, safety, daily operations and performance management.
• Gains handson experience within all tasks and duties within the operations of the facility.
• Proactively fosters and promotes safe work habits, ensuring all standard safety policies and procedures are being followed.
• Actively participates in various projects within the business.
• Develops SOPs and other documented processes to ensure effective learning and knowledge transfer.
• Rotates through the plant, performing various tasks and duties associate to positions within the facility.
• Assigns work and tasks, while managing staff.
• Reviews, develops and implements continuous improvement projects and preventative maintenance strategies.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e. engineering) is required.
• Must be able to demonstrate strong project management skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills required.
• Background and knowledge within manufacturing and lean principles is required.
• Strong leadership skills required.
• Must be able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required. The ability to communicate in multiple languages is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills required.
• Must be able to lead and champion changes.
• Some travel may be required.
