Lab Lead Isotope Chemistry 1 VS - VS 2 (M/F/d)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive innovation within Special Samples by leading a lab with 13 technicians and efficiently planning, monitoring and evaluating experiments designed to ensure timely delivery of all requested isotopically labelled samples within the agreed time and with the appropriate quality
Coordinate the costefficient supply of required starting materials and intermediates with the appropriate quality from external suppliers whilst ensuring adherence to budget
Assure best available inhouse knowledge of synthetic methods are employed and ensure knowledge gained is disseminated appropriately
Continuously motivate and develop staff and self, ensuring an appropriate feedback culture and working as a rolemodel for the Bayer Life Values
Ensure the highest safety standards and complete compliance within the area of responsibility are maintained, i.e. lab safety, radiation protection, taking into account laws, regulations and directives including assessment and evaluation of all potential risks

WHO YOU ARE

PhD (or equivalent qualification) in organic chemistry, preferably with postdoc or industrial experience
First experience in leading a team with good managerial skills (coaching, communication, motivation, setting direction), interdisciplinary experience

within life science industry preferred

Excellent communication skills and ability to establish collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders across disciplines, locations and functions
High level of understanding of different stakeholder's needs and ability to understand the multiple requirements for successful CP research
High level of problem solving skills and ability to simplify and optimize
Fluent in English, German knowledge preferred
