Regulatory Data Scientist (M/F/d)

We are seeking a talented Principal Data Scientist (m/w/d) that will help fundamentally transform product discovery, development, and registration efforts in the agricultural space by functioning as a scientific leader in computational biology, computational chemistry, and predictive modeling.


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive data science strategy for Global Regulatory Science, steer transformational programs that span multiple R&D functions and partner with interdisciplinary and highly collaborative teams to redefine and accelerate the discovery and development of novel products using advanced computational techniques
  • Proactively collaborate with chemists, biologists, (eco) toxicologists and bioinformaticians to maximize computational impact on product and pipeline design, development, and optimization across modalities, including proteins, nucleic acids and small molecules
  • Provide scientific contributions which have significant impact on portfolio progression and development of technical capabilities, based on benchmarking to industry best in class
  • Articulate the value of innovation, continuously seek more powerful and robust approaches and methodologies, and drive others to seek alternative ways to provide solutions
  • Look to other domains for ideas and inspiration, actively contribute to new industry best practices in data science methodologies, collaborate broadly, identify valuable efforts which require multiple scientists or support staff to accomplish
  • Present compelling, validated stories to all levels of organization, including peers, senior management, and internal customers to drive both strategic and operational changes in business
  • Exemplify the LIFE values and participate as part of a strong global team, contribute to a culture of partnership and trust, and co own outcomes within Data Science & Digital Transformation (DS&DT) and Regulatory Science

WHO YOU ARE

  • Ph.
D. with several years of relevant experience or M.S. with long-term relevant experience in a discipline of Data Science (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering), with and broad knowledge of methods across the computational sciences

  • Demonstrate expert proficiency in computational skills and level of experience building data models using R, Python or other statistical and/or mathematical programming packages
  • Expert proficiency in predictive modeling to include comprehension of theory, modeling/identification strategies and limitations and pitfalls and develop powerful methodologies to provide alternative solutions in solving complex problems
  • Operate effectively in areas that are characterized by a high degree of uncertainty, ambiguity, and, often times, organizational inertia and have the ability to lead by influence across multiple functions
  • Execute his/her responsibilities with knowledge, integrity, commitment, and excellence and as in the matrix structure additional skills are required gather information, negotiate, and communicate decisions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
