Valsoft is looking for a talented, versatile, and passionate M&A Director to spearhead our expansion into the DACH region


The M&A Director will work in an extremely entrepreneurial environment and will be responsible for building relationships with software business owners, brokers, and the like, with the ultimate goal of capital deployment and investment.

You will be a full-cycle M&A professional with salesmanship and charisma for business development activities, but also have analytical and financial authority to manage and execute the due diligence process.

You will be our first hire in the region but will have the full support of our growing team of 30+ in Montreal, Canada.

This is an incredible opportunity to manage, invest and deploy large capital at an extremely fast pace in a new region.

With the potential to eventually build, grow and manage a local M&A team.

Founded and based in in Montreal, Canada, Valsoft's focus is to acquire and grow vertical software businesses that provide mission-critical solutions in their respective niche or market.

Since 2015, we have acquired over 60 businesses.
Today, Valsoft has over 2,500 employees across 20+ countries. This business model creates a rapid growth environment allowing the acquisition of new companies based on profitable vertical performance. Our motto is "Be Humble, Stay Hungry."


As an M&A Director, you will:

[Day to day responsibilities]

  • Identifying M&A targets (generate $200M+ of buyable revenue opportunities per quarter)
  • Evaluate and identify target acquisitions that fit Valsoft's criteria and determine valuation expectations
  • Conduct preacquisition due diligence (commercial, financial) in conjunction with Montreal team
  • Negotiate deal terms (with support of Investment Partner you will, when fully ramped up, achieve $1520M per year in acquired revenues)

You will be set up for success if you have:

[Skills & Requirements]

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in either Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or another quantitative field
  • 35 years' experience in Investment banking, private equity, M&A or corporate development, capital markets setting.
  • Strong business development and financial analysis skills, including building financial models
  • Fluent in English, German
  • Willingness to travel (25% of the time)

What would make you amazing:

  • Familiarity with a buy and build model and VMS or software experience/knowledge
  • Fluent in additional languages (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Dutch)
