About us:

Do you want to make a real impact in the Mobility startup ecosystem? Then become our new Director of the TUM Venture Lab Mobility.

The network of the TUM Venture Labs aim to be a springboard for entrepreneurship in Deep Tech and Life Science.

They are a joint initiative by TUM, the top-ranked university of the EU, and UnternehmerTUM, Europe's leading entrepreneurship center.

The TUM Venture Lab Mobility will work in an integrated way with existing flagship initiatives on the future of mobility, such as the Mobility Cluster MCube and Digital Hub Mobility, as well as other TUM Venture Labs, in an interdisciplinary way.

The aim is to boost the existing disruptive potential inside this unique ecosystem and create scalable, tech-based start-ups in the Mobility space.

The TUM Venture Labs support prospective founders from the early idea discovery phase all the way to incorporation, external investment and impact.

For this purpose, we are looking for

Your mission:

Strategize - Refine and implement the strategic direction of the TUM VL Mobility on scientifically/environmentally/socially relevant topics in alignment with the overarching TUM Venture Labs strategy

Lead - Have full operative responsibility for the TUM Venture Lab Mobility and lead its team.

Integrate the TUM and UnternehmerTUM ecosystem - Align closely with stakeholders in academia (TUM Academic Director and MCube Managing Director), startup coaching (TUM startup consultants), and Digital Hub Mobility by UnternehmerTUM.

Develop & implement domain-specific offerings - Be responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of domain-specific education and venturing programs to build a stable pipeline of mobility startup teams aligned with existing activities.

Manage infrastructure - Provide access to relevant infrastructure for mobility startups, such as prototype workshops, test fields, and spaces in the appropriate TUM Venture Labs locations.

Engage the community - Activate the scientific community and instill an entrepreneurial mindset to advance innovations and provide strategic direction based on economically/environmental/socially relevant topics in your talent pipeline

Network - Represent the TUM Venture Lab Mobility externally and expand together with your stakeholders the strong network within relevant technology fields, local communities, and with strategic partners.

Your profile:

Scientific/Engineering/Business and Mobility background with 3+ years of project management/leadership experience in either academics, venture capital, strategic consulting, startups, or corporate environment. Entrepreneurship experience is a must.
Completed Ph.

D. or M. Sc., preferably in relevant fields

A strong network in the UnternehmerTUM and TUM ecosystem is a plus
Entrepreneurial mindset with clear enthusiasm for hightech innovation in the field of mobility
Profound social and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and cultivate a highly dynamic team
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and German with a high level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations and across hierarchies
