Duties:


  • Oversee equipment and software standards, specifications and guides for supporting all systems development and maintenance activities.
  • Manage the software development life cycle processes that identify configuration items.
  • Prepare policy and project documents related to organizational management, IT projects and systems configuration items into accordance with Department of Defense, major command and local standards.
  • Perform feasibility studies in order to develop information systems to meet user requirements.

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • Must attain and maintain appropriate IAT level 2 certification within 6 months of employment per DoD Directive , "Cyberspace Workforce Management, "August 11, 2015 and DoD M," Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
  • Must obtain Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT Level II) certification within 6 months of employment, IAW DoD M.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
  • This position may require you to be oncall on a rotational basis, responding to emergency calls at times beyond the normal duty day.
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 10% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
  • This position requires a valid, stateissued and USAREUR Driver's License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command's structure.
  • This position may require you to work planned and/or unscheduled overtime to meet work requirements.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).
  • May be required to use a cellular telephone and is required to maintain a working telephone at all times.

Specialized Experience**: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) coordinating system testing, maintenance, or support required for new system implementation; 2) devising solutions to critical operations problems with IT architecture framework; AND 3) conducting research on newly emerging information technologies to identify opportunities for system improvements.

  • AND
  • The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.

resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation.
