The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, together with the Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University, is Europe's leading center for contract research and development in the field of laser technology.

In our department Joining of Metals we concentrate on all aspects of laser beam welding of metals.
The in-situ images obtained provide insights into process dynamics and set new standards in process understanding.

What you will do

Conceptualisation and expansion of existing and new AI models
Development of graphical user interfaces for employees
Maintenance of existing IT infrastructure

What you bring to the table

Knowledge of the Python programming language
Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch is advantageous, but not mandatory
Optional practice with image analysis libraries such as OpenCV

Remuneration is based on the general works agreement on the employment of auxiliary staff.
The weekly working time is 14 hours.
The position is initially limited to 6 months, after which a longer term is also possible.
