SOME IT WORKS. SOME CHANGES WHAT'S POSSIBLE.
SHARE YOUR PASSION.
More than 90% of automotive innovations are based on electronics and software. That's why creative freedom and lateral thinking are so important in the pursuit of truly novel solutions.
And that's why our experts will treat you as part of the team from day one, encourage you to bring your own ideas to the table - and give you the opportunity to really show what you can do.
We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Master thesis in the area of Cross-Talk Quantification in Isogeometric Analysis.
As a generalization of conventional Finite Element Analysis, IGA facilitates simulations directly on the CAD model, thereby offers the potential of seamless CAD-CAE integration.
However, cross-talk related to local trimming features and material fracture poses a significant modeling challenge. As a master thesis student, you will work on developing mathematical models to quantify the magnitude of the potential cross-talking effect.
What awaits you?
- You will gain an indepth understanding of the IGA and the crosstalk theory.
- You will familiarize yourself with IGAsimulation workflow.
- You will collaborate closely with multiple IGA experts to develop innovative techniques for quantifying Type 1 and Type 2 crosstalk.
What you should bring along?
- Master student in mathematics, computational mechanics, computational science of engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Strong mathematical background.
- Strong knowledge of explicit FEM and/or IGA is an advantage.
- Proficiency in programming with Python, Fortran or C++.
- Fluent English is required, German is an advantage.
- Initiative and strong selfmotivation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
What do we offer?
- Comprehensive mentoring & onboarding.
