Eaton has opened a new position:

Senior Specialist Research Funding (M/F/n)

Location:
Germany - open to home office solution

Primary function:

The research funding senior specialist will be in charge to build up a strong network between Eaton and Research Institutions (e.g., Universities) across EMEA with the target to increase Eaton's share in public, private or governmental funded research.

The principal goal includes the deployment of Eaton Research Lab technology and growth strategy/roadmaps for Europe with strong focus on external funding opportunities through developing and maintaining relationships with the external technical community and academia, including government agencies (at both European and relevant country levels), bringing new government funding opportunities and leveraging these partnerships for significant advancements in research.

Further broader goals/responsibilities for this role are:

The technology manager will be responsible for managing and driving new government funding opportunities with R&D community including team managers & scientists & engineers specializing in various technology areas
Demonstrate excellent leadership in seeking for new government funding opportunities with alignment to Eaton's business need and strategic technology focus
Represent Eaton in joint projects & consortiums at country or European level.
Drive and execute on time delivery of all needed activities on concept papers, presentation to founding agencies and full proposals.
Champion technology realization programs utilizing our internal project control processes, including Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, and Technical Reviews.
Lead external partnerships with universities and research organizations to bring to Eaton outside technologies and best practices.
Responsible for periodic Project Status Reports, Quarterly Reports and other special reports using Eaton's reporting systems and processes.
Foster an environment for creativity while promoting the generation of valueadded intellectual property.
Protect innovative and differentiated ideas by filing patents that add value to the technology needs of the businesses.

We would like you to bring:

PhD / MSc degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, from an accredited university.
At least 7 years' industrial or technology development or entrepreneurial experience
Intensive experience in writing and winning Government proposals and administration.
Extensive experience in Industrial Engineering
Proven track record of implementing partnerships with Universities and National Labs
Proven track record of writing and winning Government proposals to develop nextgeneration technologies
Strong leadership skills
Experience with proven track record in new technology development with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
Business acumen with proven record of formulating value proposition
German & English communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
