Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a System Administrator to provide technical support for the USAFE Healthcare program at Ramstein AB. This is a full-time position.


Responsibilities:


  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, firmware, and network protocol problems affecting the access to medical information systems supporting the local MTF.
  • Support diagnostics and configuration connectivity of MHS site/service specific servers, operating systems, office automation, and other systems as specified by the Government.
  • Operate and maintain security firewalls/VPN devices.
  • Assist with DHA infrastructure deployments and technical hardware refresh initiatives.
  • Support the integration of network hardware and software platforms for WAN/LAN connected systems and medical AISs at MTFs and clinics. as directed by the COR.
  • Assist in drafting ATO packages for new and existing systems.
  • Draft documentation needed to announce new cyber security initiatives and participate building and implementing processes surrounding cyber security.
  • Provide cyber security reports to DHA leadership, conduct scans and participate in the process to obtain ATO status for systems determined by DHA and/or MTF leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with data security policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with DHA directives and applicable RMF requirements.
  • Ensure that all applicable DoD policies and security practices are implemented and maintained throughout the infrastructure for workstations and printers such as STIGs to the workstations within specified timeframes driven by DISA and US Cyber Command.
  • Ensure implementation of appropriate changes and improvement actions, as required, by DHA, MTF CIO, or COR.
  • Provide expertise with authentication issues.
  • Install, configure computer software, and maintain its integrity.
  • Troubleshoot performance systems and coordinate solutions with MHS GENESIS team.
  • Manage the installation, testing, monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting of client hardware and software on Windows platforms.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, sets up, and troubleshoot all hardware and software components, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and other system interfaces and testing for system malfunctions.
  • Install upgrades, configure, and test offtheshelf, locally developed, and agency provided computer software.
  • Optimize the production network performance and security based upon, but not limited to DISA, MHS, Army, Navy, Air Force and DHA regulations, policies and BBPs, prepare, utilize, and adhere to standard operating procedures and concepts of operation.
  • Prepare, align, and implement DHA plans and strategies based upon DISA, MHS, Army, Navy, Air Force, and DHA Computer Network Defense requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions to improve DHA network capabilities.
  • Analyze and evaluate network security incidents to develop strategies, configurations, and procedures to prevent or minimize future network exploits.
  • Provide installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and implementation support to all DHA supported activities.
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain a global Medical Community of Interest (MEDCOI) architecture supporting all DHA activities and partners.

Qualifications:
3+ years experience in systems administration and support. High School diploma or GED.

Must be Security+ certified (or hold another certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT II). Experience providing technical support for a variety of hardware and software issues. Experience with a trouble ticket system.

Able to provide ongoing informal systems control training to government personnel on all aspects of systems control. Must maintain proficiency and qualifications required for performance of all systems control responsibilities. Able to provide training in COMSEC and Information Assurance (IA). Must maintain awareness of current trends in information technology and perform varied research and periodical searches to identify current trends in information systems, hardware, software, and training. Able to provide technical expertise for review, re-engineering (if required), and expertise of technical and business processes such as solution fielding and customer support. Able to develop a thorough understanding of the customer's mission needs and be knowledgeable of the hardware and software capabilities and limitations supporting that functional system.

Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
