Your Responsibilities

In this position you are accountable for:

  • management and accuracy of the ongoing fuel and lube oil plans.
- optimizing the operational planning of fuel and lube oil deliveries based on operational information, fuel market data, fuel quality history and supplier reliability.
- building Costa Crociere and AIDA brand fuel budgets and for ensuring continuous improvement of the fuel budget build process and content to ensure accuracy.
- the forecasting, month end process and variance analysis.
- ensuring fuel quantity and quality claims are raised to Carnival Corporate Fuel Procurement Department for investigation in a timely manner.
- identification of potential operation issues as a stakeholder in the itinerary planning process, based on forthcoming fuel related environmental regulations and fuel supply information.
- consumption and delivery data collection including adherence to all related Sarbanes Oxley controls.
- the EU MRV and IMO DCS consumption data collection, verification process and certification.


you are also responsible for:
- managing Carnival Maritime's relationship with the fuel testing supplier.
- monitoring the Specific Fuel Oil Consumption (SFOC) to ensure optimal engine performance and promptly report any concerns to the relevant Ship Manager.
- overseeing the monitoring of the AAQS usage rate and work towards enhancing the fuel mix by increasing the utilization of High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO). This will involve maintaining open communication with both the onboard and shoreside technical teams to exchange best practices and operational suggestions.
- the business ownership of NFM, working with IT to develop the system and making sure it is fit for purpose.


We expect you to collaborate closely with the Decarbonisation team to reduce fuel and energy consumption and provide support for upcoming fuel projects.


Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Maritime discipline
  • Experience in the area of operational planning and coordination
  • Technical knowledge of fuel and basic engineering knowledge would be useful
  • Experience in budgeting and cost management desirable
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Good communication skills, in writing and verbally
  • Effective time management and prioritization skill
  • Proactive team player, interacting with the Fleet Teams and with all involved parties
  • Able to coordinate and to provide guidance according to company policies and procedures
