The
Institute of Pathology, RWTH Aachen University Hospital, Aachen, Germany, has an immediate vacancy for a

Lab Coordinator (f/m/d)

at 50% full-time equivalent hours/week).

The position is currently project-specific and will initially be offered on a fixed-term agreement for 1 year, although there is likely to be the option of an extension.


The role of Laboratory Coordinator is to manage generic and project-specific (SFB/TRR219) laboratory activities, thereby relieving the scientists and increase the effectiveness and quality of the scientific work of the group.


Your tasks would include:


  • Instrument calibration, maintenance and repair
  • Creation and updating of digital lists of instruments and consumables as well as sample databases
  • Establishment, update and control of protocols and SOPs for laboratory equipment and experiments
  • Control and coordination of the digital lab book
  • Helping to instruct and train new employees

Your Background should include:


  • Completed vocational training as MTA/BTA/CTA or completed studies in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry (BSc)
  • English knowledge in word and writing
  • Experience in laboratory work
  • Experience in laboratory and experimental documentation
  • Knowledge in work safety issues
  • Basic knowledge in various laboratory techniques desirable
  • Teaching skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Good German language in writing and speaking be also required
