Studentische Hilfskraft (w/m/d) - Robotic / Embedded Systems
The number of employment hours can be jointly decided based on your availability/schedule.

Your salary will be then determined based on the number of hours you work and the standard hourly rate of Studentische Hilfskraft.


Your tasks:


  • Leaning about the mechanical and electrical/electronic constructs of the TUK
  • Repairing the existing instances and bring them to full function
  • Designing, implementing, and testing new mechanisms to improve the robot, especially in terms of its mechanical robustness
  • Helping in setting up the prototyping laboratory by contributing in selection and procurement of various tools and devices, especially those related to the project
  • Potentially, based on your interests and expertise, prepare a prototype for using it in upcoming course laboratories/exercises

Your profile:


  • You are interested and experienced in robotics and/or electronics and embedded systems
  • You have experience with either (i) embedded system platforms (ideally Arduino), or (ii) mechanical design for robots. Having experience and expertise in both would be a significant bonus
  • Ideally, you have experience (or at least interest) in working with biomedical devices and Bluetooth connected devices. Having worked with EEG headbands would be an advantage
  • You are interested in biomedical engineering and social robotics, especially to help those on the Autism spectrum and suffering from ADHD
  • You are a fast learner, eager, and persistent individual able to work alone and in a team
  • Good English and a minimum (functioning) knowledge of both German and English
