Job description:


Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, this role will be responsible for collecting and packing customer shipments for research samples, clinical trials medicines and other pharmaceutical and healthcare related products.

The role will involve transporting time critical and temperature sensitive consignments, in a safe, careful and timely manner whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer care.


Key Responsibilities:


Collection & Packing

  • Act as the face of Biocair for all shipment collections and deliveries and ensure that customer interactions are handled in a proactive and professional manner at all times.
  • Responsible for the preparation and packaging of all specialist packaging and temperature controlled consignments including Ambient Packing"; "Refrigerated Packing"; Frozen Packing; "Dry Ice Packing"; "Infectious Substances Packing"; "Dangerous Goods Packing" and Liquid Nitrogen ensuring all mandatory procedures are adhered to.
  • Responsible for repacking and or reicing shipments where necessary and ensuring all mandatory procedures are adhered to.
  • To ensure the correct documentation is accurately completed and processed with the shipment.
  • To be aware of the regulations covering the transportation, labelling and packaging of hazardous substances and observe and comply with these regulations at all times.

Warehouse

  • To perform all necessary duties to maintain a clean, tidy and safe warehouse, ensuring all materials are stored in the designated areas.
  • Report any shortfalls of packaging stock, to the appropriate person, to ensure mínimal stock levels are always maintained.
  • Ensure Fridges, Freezers and Warm Room temperatures are checked and remain within prescribed parameters and maintain accurate records thereof.
  • Maintenance of all relevant storage logs to 100% accuracy.

Vehicles

  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicles (interior and exterior) to ensure each vehicle is in a pristine condition and appearance at all times.
  • To carry out daily and weekly vehicle maintenance checks and perform simple maintenance tasks as required (such as changing bulbs, charging batteries) and reporting any faults or defects immediately to the Transport Supervisor.
  • To ensure the relevant documentation is completed accurately to support the vehicle maintenance checks.

Company

  • To build positive working relationships with other drivers, departments and management to deliver excellent communication and customer service
  • Work proactively with other teams to overcome problems and implement process improvements.
  • To participate in regular 11s and department meetings, providing feedback and discussion to aid continual personal development.
  • Comply with, and implement as required, all security policies and procures applicable to your role and location (including Shipment, IT and Information Security).

Essential:


  • Must hold a full, clean driving license
  • Must have commercial van driving experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Desirable

  • Specialist Pharmaceutical collection/delivery experience
  • ADR Qualified
  • Class 7 Qualified
