Our client is a very successful, globally operating, traditional and family-owned company in the maritime sector based in Hamburg. To create further growth, we are looking for you as soon as possible as Director Finance (m/w/d).

As Director Finance (m/w/d) you are part of the generation change and shape the transformation of the traditional medium-sized shipping company into a future-oriented company in the maritime sector.

You make a crucial contribution to the achievement of the company's financial and corporate vision, mission and long-term goals. Director Finance (m/w/d).

Duties:

Management of the company's finance department on a growth course with currently four employees including management of one executive
Ensuring the qualitative development of the responsible team
Strategic management and further development of the company
Maintaining and expanding relationships with banks and other financiers
Ensuring the company's cash flow and the (re)financing of existing and new projects
Regular reporting of results to management and the owner
Safe handling of all relevant commercial/financial aspects of the company
Ensuring that daytoday business runs smoothly
Providing strategic input to management and the owner in the role of a sparring partner
Modernization/digitization of (financial) processes

Requirements:

Successfully completed business studies or comparable qualification
Proven leadership skills and experience (strategic, virtual, disciplinary) in a comparable position
Solid shipping and project finance experience
Profound knowledge and experience in accounting and IT/digitalization matters
Deep understanding of the maritime industry with a resilient network of shipping companies, owners, investors, (alternative) financiers and other relevant decisionmakers
Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking and acting
Strong communication skills and marketoriented leader with longterm professional goals
Experience with family businesses
Integrative/cooperative team player
Fluent German and English (C1 level)
