The Institute of Fluid Dynamics is conducting basic and applied research in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics in order to improve the sustainability, the energy efficiency and the safety of industrial processes.
PhD Student (f/m/d) Investigations on bubble-induced turbulence.
Your tasks:
- Extension of an existing test rig for bubbly flows with builtin components
- Conducting fluid mechanical measurement series on a bubble column with highspeed cameras
- Evaluation and analysis of particle trajectories
- Multiscale analysis for the investigation of bubbleinduced turbulence and corresponding modelling
Your profile:
- Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of mechanical engineering, process engineering, physics or a related field
- Knowledge in the field of fluid mechanics/multiphase flows
- Experimental skills and experience in image processing are desirable
- Structured and solutionorientated work
- Strong motivation to work in a collaborative environment
- Experience in data processing and programming, especially with the scripting language Matlab or Python
- Good communication skills in written and spoken English and German
