In order to support the Legal Affairs department, Airbus Defence and Space in

Ottobrunn / Munich is looking for a
"Legal Counsel Corporate Affairs" (d/f/m)
You will be joining the Legal Affairs department, currently moving to an empowered organization.


As part of this role, you will contribute to the reduction of legal exposure and risks Airbus might be exposed to.

You will analyse the risks involved in finance and commercial transactions and will brief, in conjunction with lawyers, commercial and/or finance colleagues to enable them to make well-informed decisions.


Alongside with commercial and finance colleagues, you will work in the negotiation and implementation of Airbus finance and commercial transactions.


We are looking for a committed and passionate individual to join our team, with relevant experience in Finance gained with an international law firm, financial institution or large multi-national company and up for a new challenge in Airbus.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the following main activities:

  • acting as the primary legal focal point for finance law matters related to German law and covering a wide range of legal finance matters for a variety of different internal clients
- actively promoting and protecting all legal interests related to finance law (including regulatory of the BaFin) aspects on group level and for all Airbus divisions (Airbus commercial, Airbus Helicopters, Airbus Defence and Space)
- dealing with a wide range of legal issues mainly in the areas of financing, banking, pensions and capital markets laws
- reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and/or other financing documents, including loan documentation and guarantee agreements for all divisions and subsidiaries;
- supporting bids and sales campaigns, including by drafting and negotiating guarantee instruments;
- ensuring that all group wide finance activities are implemented and managed in accordance with European finance legislation and guidelines of the financial regulator;
- developing / implementing the Airbus Ethics & Compliance policies and Airbus Values and promoting it to our internal clients;
- instructing and managing relationship with external legal counsels and managing transaction costs in line with Airbus policies.

This role may involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.


Desired skills and qualifications:


  • You are educated to a German Law degree and have
    successfully passed the 2 German state exams*
  • You have a Master of laws and/or an international work experience
  • You have
    5 years of relevant experience gained with an international law firm ,
    financial institution or large multinational company
  • You have a strong ability to work autonomously and efficiently in order to meet the given deadlines of transactions while ensuring that the risks for Airbus are identified and minimized
  • You have excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • You are a
    Team player prepared to discover new ways of working and undertake a demanding and varied workload.
  • You are able to build bridges between different teams, cultures, and mindsets
  • You have the experience of working in a matrix environment with proven record of successful stakeholder management from different locations and backgrounds thanks to good communication skills
  • You speak
    german as a native Speaker and have excellent written and spoken English (understanding French would be a plus)
