Beschreibung
Reiner Lemoine Institute is an independent non-profit research
institution that contributes to a transformation towards a sustainable
energy supply based on 100 % renewable energy. Our three research fields
are Transformation of Energy Systems, Mobility with Renewable Energy, and Off-Grid Systems.
We conduct applied research to scientifically support the long-term
transition of the energy supply system towards renewable energy.

Green Hydrogen Generation Potential in Central Asia

within the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems.

Reference Number:
OffGrid_67_191222

Description:

In the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems,
we focus on strategies for renewable-energy-based power supply in
software, collaborate with our partners on equal terms and emphasize the
sustainability of our research results.

We are offering a student position in context of the Green Hydrogen
Generation Potential based on Renewable Energies in Central Asia

project:
Central Asia is a promising partner region from which green
hydrogen could potentially be imported. However, the potential of
hydrogen production based on renewable energy has not been sufficiently
explored. The main challenges and questions are whether green hydrogen
production and export is feasible given natural resources and energy
infrastructure, whether sustainability criteria can be met, whether it
can contribute to the strengthening of national energy systems, and
whether regional cooperation can be strengthened through green hydrogen
production.

Tasks

  • Collect data and review literature relevant for the project
  • Support the organization of events and fields trips related to the project
  • Develop a model of the Central Asian energy systems and analyse the role of hydrogen for several future scenarios

Requirements:

preferably Renewable Energy, Economics, Political Sciences, Development
Studies or a related relevant field

  • Strong interest in the topics of renewable energy and hydrogen in Central Asia
