What you will do

Research in the fields of channel coding, low latency communication and artificial intelligence for the physical layer
Develop new transmission schemes, protocols and crosslayer optimizations for contributing to relevant standardization bodies
Implement prototypes involving machine learning techniques to optimize for latency, reliability, and energy efficienc

What you bring to the table

Master or PhD degree in Communications/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar fields
Very strong academic background with emphasis on machine learning, channel coding and LTE/5G PHY layer procedures
Experience with polar codes, LDPC codes, HARQ, NR V2X and unlicensed access are nicetohave
Strong theoretical understanding and the ability to transfer theoretical knowledge to practical approaches
Creative thinking and interest for novel technologies
Experience with standardization bodies, especially 3GPP RAN1/RAN2, is an advantage
Excellent programming skills, e.g. in C++, or script languages, e.g. Python or Matlab
Strong research potential and publication record
Good communication skills and teamwork spirit
Highly motivated and enthusiastic about future of communications
Willingness to travel
Excellent spoken and written English
