Job Description SCOPE**:


Varied range of duties in providing day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for Sirtex's European entities in compliance with applicable legal requirements, codes, and internal regulations.

Work closely with the Finance Director EMEA and the Finance team in the accurate, high quality and timely completion of daily accounting tasks and period-end closing activities.

Assist with tax filing and year-end audits. Actively promotes internal process improvement to achieve business objectives.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Accounting

  • Responsible for accounts payable including processing of supplier invoices.
  • Monitoring of payment processing.
  • Review and release of changes to vendor master data.
  • Preparing monthend reconciliation between AP subledger and general ledger.
  • Raising customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Processing customers' receipts.
  • Responsible for debtor accounting and receivables management.
  • Preparing month end reconciliation between AR subledger and general ledger.
  • Preparation of weekly customer aging report.
  • Set up and maintenance of fixed assets register and processing depreciation and amortization entries.
  • Record lease entries in accordance with the IFRS1
  • Preparing the financial statements for allocated entities.
  • Identify any specific provisions and put up a provision for impairment.
Inventory Management

  • Analyses of standard costs and variance.
  • Preparation of monthend inventory reconciliations.
  • Overseeing of monthly stock count.
Banking

  • Import daily bank statements from HSBC and postprocess the statement items.
  • Maintenance of clearing accounts.
  • Preparation of cash forecast.
  • Monthly cash reconciliation.
  • Review of the cash book and monthly petty cash counting.
Financial Reporting and Audits

  • Preparing the monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Preparation of financial reports for statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet analysis with commentary.
  • Prepare required reports for IFRS and statutory purposes.
  • Assistance in tax audits.
Projects

  • Participation/management of projects in finance and accounting.
  • Adhoc projects.

Qualifications EDUCATIONAL PREREQUISITES AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**:

  • Commercial Apprenticeship, graduation as Certified Accountant (Finanzbuchhalter)
  • Additional Bachelor in Finance or higher degree as certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) would be a plus
  • Professional experience in Accounting and Taxation of 5+ years.
  • Solid experience and knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and German accounting standards (HGB) incl. cost accounting.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Handson mentality and flexibility in a dynamic environment
  • Good communication and organization skills.
  • Good analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Professional and ethical attitude.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:


  • Undergo all formal Training Events as may be directed from timetotime.
  • Observe and comply with all Sirtex Corporate Policies. Work within, and ensure adherence to Quality System procedures, work instructions and other Quality System requirements.
  • Work within, and ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment Management System procedures, instructions and other requirements.
