About the Role


This role is responsible for Value Management (VM) for global customer projects and products inside the SBU Car Audio with a total sales of approx.

2.6 billion USD (Growing to $3.5B by 2030)

In this role, you will lead the global SBU Value Management team directly reporting to you.


Major scope of the team is (from RFQ to Post-SOP) design to cost, development of engineering tools to improve Engineering efficiency, carbon emissions reduction, technical and commercial idea assessment and reporting to upper management.

In coordination with the Central VM Team, working on cost down activities related to different projects, component benchmarking, competitor analysis and data base for electrical & mechanical Bill of Material.

This role is interacting with all levels from Engineer to management in diverse departments like Hardware and Mechanical engineering, CPM, Sales, Procurement, Software, Quality, License, Production as well as communication to supplier.


Your Team
You will have a team of approx TE/HW/ME/PM/Analyst) globally directly reporting to you.


What You Will Do

  • Supervise global VM workshops on costdown activities from RFI/RFQ to Post-SOP for all customers.
  • Leading a global team of experts (HW, ME, TE, PM, License, Business Ops Specialist) to deeply investigate projects and products from high system level to deep HW/ME level.
  • Responsible for regular Business Case planning for SBU VM-Team as well as Budget and Cost Center responsibility
  • Participate Concept Approvals of customer programs
  • Develop new design concepts together with engineering experts
  • Drive a common vision and design, establish and maintain innovative data management infrastructure to improve Engineering processes.
  • Drive VM activities together with suppliers
  • Reporting of VM achievements into the Central VM reporting with focus on BC improvement and annual P&L effect
  • Drive and monitor implementation progress of identified cost down measures with Program Management and Development
  • Share lessons learned and reuse of ideas crossSBU
  • Optimize VM process between Central VM and SBU VM from RFI/RFQ to postSOP
  • Optimize and influence manufacturing processes from engineering perspective
  • Support competitor benchmark in alignment with Central VM for different products been offered by HARMAN (Intelligent Cockpit)

What You Need

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or appropriate graduation)
  • Excellent technical understanding of Infotainment, ADAS or similar technology (HW, ME, System)
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Engineering in leading position, Value Management experience strongly recommended
  • Good knowledge of cost controlling, program management, procurement processes and production processes
  • Understand the dynamics of the Automotive Tier1 market and have a vision for market, customer trends and cost
  • Excellent and proven program management skills
  • Lead technical presentations / workshops internally and externally
  • Structured working practice
  • Excellent English and German language skills
