Technical Operations Excellence is part of the Operations Engineering department within Global Service.

We are responsible for supporting the regional Operations and Engineering teams within the service organization, ensuring that they have the right solutions available to optimize the performance of the turbines.


Our team are respected as experts within our fields, bridging the gap between technical and operational aspects of the service business.

We strongly focus on stakeholder management and satisfaction, interacting with colleagues across the globe and the entire Vestas value chain.


Responsibilities

  • Act as the main Global Operations Engineering point of contact for bladerelated service issues
  • Act as the leader of the blades service functional community, connecting the different regional operations and engineering teams with global functions, ensuring knowledge sharing in virtual and physical forums
  • Escalate key pain points within the regional service communities to relevant depts in global functions for issue resolution
  • Identify key performance drivers within relevant functional areas and ensure there is an agreed action plan to deal with the issue
  • Act as technical and operational reviewer of solutions and deliverables during RCA, development and implementation when addressing quality issues with service impact
  • Ensure service requirements are captured during new product development and key deliverables are ready for introduction to service operations
  • Identify areas for operational improvement of WTG servicing and work with relevant stakeholders to develop into executable tasks

Qualifications

For this role we expect you have:

  • Masters or Bachelors in an Engineering function such as aeronautical, mechanical, materials science or a related field
  • 5+ years' experience in an engineeringrelated wind turbine blades service role
  • A deep understanding of the entire lifecycle of wind turbine blades
- design, testing, certification, manufacturing, service, and decommissioning

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Data analytics skills (preferably PowerBI, SQL), but is not a prerequisite
  • Six Sigma or similar training would be preferable
  • Training or experience in project or program management

  • Advanced English skills, this is a prerequisite to have
  • Great communication skills at all levels of the organization across a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills within small and large audiences
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to implement change across a broad spectrum of the organization
  • Effective working in a remote team with colleagues of different cultures and backgrounds

We have offices globally but being close to those in the Isle of Weight, Porto, Aarhus, and Hamburg is advantageous.

Other countries can be considered depending on your preference, mainly because the team is remote, and we are working with colleagues of different cultures and backgrounds.
