HR Generalist

The HR Generalist reports to the Associate Director, Human Resources Systems (ADHRS) and is responsible for providing first level HR service support while ensuring the highest quality of customer service for staff and faculty.

The HR Generalist is responsible for employee recruitment, employee relations, employment data entry, maintenance, and validation in the systems of record, basic benefits administration, and will be cross trained in other HR areas and assist as needed.

Work is on-site at the overseas headquarters building, and occasional TDY travel to education centers might be required.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Educate all sections of the business on established human resources processes and policies, such as interviewing, hiring, promoting, disciplinary actions, timely separations, attendance, etc.
  • Assist with the design, plan, and implementation of new employee onboarding/orientation in a way that fosters a positive attitude towards company goals and objectives
  • Coordinate employee sponsorship assignments for each onboarding event including new hires and transfers
  • Handle firstlevel employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
  • Work with all business partners as an employee advocate to ensure that company practices are consistent with the core company values of building trust, respect and fairness when interacting with all employees
  • Assist the ADHRS with the administration of employee relations and award programs to include performance management advising, annual employee evaluation reviews, and employee service awards
  • Conduct HR communication outreach to include new employee briefings and maintenance of HR pages on various websites (e.g., Engage, intranet, and internet)
  • Compile various human resourcesrelated reports as required
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Create employment records, maintain an organized filing system, and assist entering/updating HR data in the systems of record and other databases for employees
  • Work with payroll offices in all divisions to ensure the integrity and timeliness of employee payments
  • Provide HR support to the University's operation offices for all employment issues
  • Manage the daily administrative office tasks
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of departments in relation to established goals
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Assist the ADHRS and Director, Human Resources with special projects.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:


  • Perform HR Logistics tasks to include, but not limited to, requesting and submitting individual logístical support documents, country and theater clearances, Letters of Authorization, base passes, and travel.
  • Assist the Associate Director, HR Systems with processing faculty pay (scheduling corrections, longevity, contract generation, hires, transfers, terminations, etc.) and provide HR support for all faculty pay issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign degree equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in HR administration
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR or similar certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months
  • Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft, or other HRIS
  • Efficient, focused, well organized, and high attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy with an intermediate understanding of computer software (especially MS Word and Excel)
  • Ability to adapt to changing shortterm priorities while consistently supporting and contributing to the achievement of longterm goals
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced work environment
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and the ability to represent the University effectively in a high visibility office

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or foreign degree equivalent
  • Three (3) years of experience in HR Administration
  • Experience with ILS administration
  • SPHR/SHRM-SCP, GPHR, or equivalent HR certification
