ABOUT VENTURE CAFÉ GLOBAL INSTITUTE (VCGI) & VENTURE CAFÉ BERLIN

Venture Café Global Institute (VCGI) was established in 2009 at the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) in Massachusetts with the goal of connecting individuals, ideas, and resources on a global scale. Today, it has evolved into a worldwide movement, facilitating over 660,000 connections among innovators, creatives, and leaders in cities like Boston, St. Louis, Rotterdam, and Tokyo. VCGI's mission is to foster global change by creating a network of communities focused on addressing humanity's greatest challenges.
Venture Café Berlin is set to debut in Q4 2024 in collaboration with strategic partner CIC. Venture Café Berlin collaborates with companies and organizations driving advancements in various fields within Berlin and beyond.

Our flagship Thursday Gathering brings together numerous creative individuals committed to enhancing life on Earth.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Thursday Gathering is a lively weekly event unifying Berlin's innovation community. You will play a key role in curating and managing this event, establishing an inclusive atmosphere for innovators. Your responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the weekly event to ensure seamless operations and an inclusive setting.
• Developing programs for underserved communities and hosting casual networking events.
• Organizing educational sessions and coordinating partnerships to deliver diverse, high-quality content.
• Managing communication channels like the website, social media, and mailing lists, along with overseeing a volunteer team.
• Handling event logistics, collaborating with key community members, and staying connected with the local innovation landscape.
• Advocating for Berlin's innovation communities, fostering collaborations, and managing related initiatives.
• Thriving in a startup-style environment, juggling tasks, conceptualizing projects, and experimenting with innovative ideas to further the mission.

  ABOUT YOU

  If you have a deep involvement in innovation, the arts, or entrepreneurship endeavors, particularly in founding, leadership, or advocacy capacities, with a firm grasp of the innovation process, then we want to hear from you. You view innovation and entrepreneurship as tools to enhance society, understanding their diverse forms beyond traditional applications and VC-backed startups. You are acquainted with the Fukuoka community and its key figures, recognizing challenges as growth opportunities and adept at forging strong local alliances.
  Moreover, you should have:
  
  • Proficiency in event conceptualization, curation, planning, and execution.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and task prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms and the ability to utilize them effectively in your role.
  • Comfort with technology, including experience with Google Apps and WordPress (an advantage).
  • Availability to work at the weekly Venture Café Thursday Gathering from 3-8 pm.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Fluency in German would be beneficial.
  • Authorization to work in Germany; we are currently not offering visa sponsorships for this position.
