Internship in Frequency Management (d/f/m)

Your team:


The Frequency Management team is the transverse Center of Competence (CoC) supporting any wireless communications business by advising on the selection and use of the frequencies (the Frequency Management) for the wireless communications.

As a consequence, this CoC is interacting with many teams such as (but not limited to) Strategy, Innovation, Pre-sale, Marketing and Sales, bids, Programs, Service Delivery.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop software modules to understand and support the evolution of the clutter loss model, based on the ITU-R Recommendation P.

2101:
Prediction of clutter loss

  • Set up in MATLAB the simulation environment for ray tracing simulations
  • Perform ray tracing simulations for different systems (mobile network, satellite system, etc.)
  • Summarize findings and propose possible adjustments to the Recommendation to more properly reflect these findings
  • Evaluate impact on interference studies
  • Support the development of technical reports and contributions for various international fora such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a specialized agency of the United Nations.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Enrolled student in Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics or a similar field of study
  • Profound knowledge of wireless communications and propagation (knowledge of radio frequency ray tracing is mandatory)
  • Good Programming skills, preferably with MATLAB
  • Fluent English language skills
  • German or French would be a plus
  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work autonomously and proactively.
