Position:


The
Financial Accountant - Munich is responsible for the entity's local GAAP reporting, management accounting under IFRS, statistical and other government declarations, VAT and business tax compliance and providing support and assurance to the Accounts Payable team in the firm's India Shared Services Centre.


Reporting to the Finance Manager - Munich & Wroclaw you will demonstrate capability in German GAAP accounting, an understanding of IFRS, VAT, other business taxes, accounts payable, travel expense processes and financial analysis.


Key responsibilities:


  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts for Germany
  • Reconciliation of WIP
  • Monthly Accruals and Prepayments
  • Preparation of KPIs (project profitability, gross margin, etc)
  • Preparation and submission of local VAT returns
  • Analysis and documentation for payroll taxes on fringe benefits
  • Statutory reporting to the German Central Bank
  • Preparation of annual accounts including reconciliation for external advisors and group audit
  • Coordination of tax filing and disclosure of statutory accounts and financial statements
  • Supporting with statutory tax audits
  • Financial Analysis for monthly reporting
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable team in the Shared Services Center with travel and timesheet queries, including communication with the Munich staff and local suppliers
  • Continuous quality check and optimisation of processes handled by Shared Services Center
  • Liaise with bank and suppliers and administration of software, tools and corporate account online platforms
  • Supporting digitalisation and transformation projects
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Finance/accounting within an accounting function of a complex German international business
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or related discipline or Steuerfachangestellte/Finanzbuchhalter qualification. L.E.K. Consulting will support a further qualification to Bilanzbuchhalter IHK.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and experience in utilising budget and reporting software (e.g. Oracle PBC)
  • Prior experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
  • A good understanding of local tax requirements and regulatory landscape
  • Ready to take ownership of tasks and proud to show reliability
  • Work independently and proactively, interacting with stakeholders at all levels, using previous experience of working in an international professional environment
  • A fastpaced learner who can hit the ground running
  • Proven ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining composure and clarity of purpose
  • A track record of working under pressure to meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Interest in continuous improvement and personal development including communication and presentation, project management and systems implementation techniques
