    The "Future Automotive Manufacturing" department is responsible for the development and evaluation of new automation technologies at the "Production Network MO" center. Our "Future Manufacturing Technologies" team focuses on robotics and artificial intelligence. In ARENA6, a research association on the campus of the University of Stuttgart, we are working with partners from research and industry on the production of tomorrow.

    The potential of AI-supported robotic systems for the autonomous handling of objects is to be evaluated in a research project. As part of the internship, the possible applications of intelligent robots will be investigated and partial functions of prototypical demonstrators will be developed. Exemplary fields of action arise in the recognition and pose estimation of objects, the generation of real and synthetic training data and the evaluation of sensor data for the implementation of sensitive robot functions. The aim is to exploit the potential of intelligent robots in the field of intralogistics.

    These are some of the challenges you will face:

  • Development of prototypes with new technologies in the field of robotics using artificial intelligence
  • Creation and preparation of training data for image-based AI algorithms
  • Developing and evaluating different approaches to realizing intelligent robot functions using AI models
  • Qualifikationen
  • Degree in artificial intelligence, robotics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation technology or a comparable course of study
  • Advanced programming skills (e.g. Python, C++) and sound knowledge of deep learning models
  • Previous knowledge of robotics and computer vision is an advantage
  • Creativity, motivation and ability to work in a team
  • Confident written and spoken German and English skills
