DESCRIPTION

  • Financial Controlling Vice President
Frankfurt
323910- The specific role is in the Legal Entity Control (LEC) function. Within the Global function, this role will be in the Frankfurt Office of Morgan Stanley.

The Frankfurt LEC team consists of 12 people, working on the preparation of annual and interim financial statements for the Morgan Stanley's European Group as well as control and reporting functions.

  • What will you be doing?
  • Oversee the work performed by outsourcing partners based in Mumbai
  • Own the review and submission of various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to Management and Supervisory Board as well as German, EU and US regulators. These reports include FINREP, Focus II, FED Reporting, Short-Term Exercise templates and SRB/RRP/LDR inputs
  • Preparation / review the German GAAP accounting policies
  • Review, analyse and challenge the firm's global transfer pricing allocations for the German entities
  • Coordinate with multiple teams across the firm and across the globe including Global Product Controllers, Corporate Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Tax and Transfer Pricing, in a collaborative and problemsolving manner
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with the other teams based in Frankfurt who are responsible for annual and interim Financial Statements, Statistical Reporting and Regulatory Reporting
  • Supervise the activities of the EMEA Compensation Controller function as they relate to the German legal entities including accounting for cash compensation, equity based compensation and postretirement benefits
  • Manage smaller projects, regulatory requests and ad hoc queries from senior management
  • Participate in the New Product Approval process

QUALIFICATIONS

  • What we're looking for:
  • A minimum of 8 years relevant professional experience in the financial services industry, ideally within a comparable banking organisation
  • Fluency in both English and German language
  • A proven track record in implementing and maintaining well controlled reporting processes
  • Strong knowledge of accounting for financial products under IFRS and German GAAP. US GAAP would be an advantage
