Your role
You will lead and strategically steer the Financial Management team for the Baltics and Scandinavian region.

The team is responsible for the Arkona, Kårehamn and Rødsand 2 windfarms, along with any Northern European based pipeline projects entering operations.

You will be responsible for all financial and commercial topics on each individual windfarm and are the key contact for all functions providing financial or commercial services for the assets.

You will also be directly responsible for steering team members from non-COO areas and supporting the General Managers on a day-to-day basis.


Your future plans
The main responsibility of this role is the management of the financial and commercial functions of the Northern European fleet of windfarms, including:

  • RWE internal coordination of financial and commercial issues, single point of contact for financial and commercial matters within the Northern European fleet
  • Financial asset controlling and performance tracking of the Northern European fleet (addressing and flagging issues early)
  • Ensuring that RWE Finance processes, guidelines, and best practices are met and utilised across the Northern European assets
  • Responsible for the standardization and review of all reports and financial figures (including investor reporting), e.g. budgets, forecasts, business plans, business models, bench markings, commercial analysis, monthly reporting, etc.
  • Responsible for reviewing and coordinating commercial contract and claims management activities on behalf of the General Managers for the Northern European fleet. Overseeing the contractual landscape hand in hand with the Technical Project Management team, oversight of all commercial aspects of a significant number of largevolume contracts and agreements relating to the wind farms, and responsible for the review and coordination of contractual disputes as well as commercial and technical claims under the above contracts in cooperation with Legal, Procurement and the technical teams
  • Responsible for contractual or commercial risk management for the Northern European fleet, including identification of standardized risk mitigation approaches. Manage the overall risk overview and mitigation measures, in interplay with the engineering and O&M management staff and coordination of risk reporting to the central risk team
  • Review and coordination of liquidity, tax, annual accounts, and dividends for the respective legal entities
  • Manage the interface to RWE CoE Insurance and management of all insurance claims on behalf of the Northern European assets

This role will support the following tasks:

  • Preparation and management of the operational budget for Northern European Assets (internal and JV), supporting the General Managers in this process.
  • Oversight and review of multiple JV's financial models, updating accordingly.
  • Delivery of any Power Purchase Agreements and Energy Management Services Agreements
  • Review and approve dividend proposals and other financial statements and obligations for the JVs, supporting the GMs with JV partners' approval

Your profile

  • Masters or relevant Degree in Finance or Economics. Also, a technical degree with a strong financial component is sufficient.
  • Several years of experience in the energy business. A proven background in controlling, finance, and asset operations within a utility or similar is beneficial
  • Experience in project, supplier, and contract management. Sound understanding surrounding applicable laws
  • Experience with the management of joint venture constellations or complex stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Confident in presenting to large groups and senior management positions
  • Profound businessmanagement knowledge with experience working in international groups
  • Experience in leading and motivating teams
  • Proactive, reliable, and structured way of working
  • English (fluent), German an advantage
