Responsibilities:
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.
Specific Duties
You will participate within a BMBF funded project on the development and optimization of superconducting-insulator-superconducting multilayer structures using Atomic Layer Deposition.
The work is within a joint R&D team of the Helmholtz Center DESY, the Institute of Experimental Physics at Universität Hamburg (Project lead) as well as external project partners.
The aim is to study processes to deposit and optimize superconducting and insulating thin films, with a focus on interface properties, using methods like AFM, spectral ellipsometrie, XRD, SEM/EDX.
Participation in the project documentation and workshops is expected.Requirements:
A university degree in a relevant field.
Expertise in thin film preparation and characterization, as well in cleanroom work. Basic knowledge in electric characterization of samples (at cryogenic temperatures and high magnetic fields) are preferable.
Good written and communication skills and the ability to work in an international team with English as a working language.
