Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:

Incumbent may be required to travel approximately 4 times per year.


Duties:

Responsible for the preparation of residential make readies for incoming personnel. Acts as Contracting Officers Representative (COR). Oversees and coordinates maintenance service contracts for residences in Berlin. Coordinates maintenance inspection support for constituent posts; Leipzig and Hamburg. Establishes and monitors Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs and schedules, evaluates written work requests, creates Scopes of Work (SOW). Prepares cost estimates and bills of materials. Prepares reports on facility conditions of US Embassy Government Owned (GO). Responds when assigned as after duty hours on call for emergency situations.


Qualifications and Evaluations:


  • Requirements:


A minimum of two years of prior work experience in construction, facilities maintenance, project or property management; or at journeyman level in a recognized building trade (electrician, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).


  • Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school (US:
High School Diploma/GED; Germany: German school degree required).


Further, two years (or less, if successfully completed) of post-secondary education (apprenticeship, vocational/technical education or college studies) in a construction trade, engineering, office administration, business, hotel or real estate management are required.


  • Evaluations:
Position requires good working knowledge language skills in English (reading/speaking).
Position requires good working knowledge language skills in German (reading/speaking).

  • Must have a valid German/EU driver's license class B.
    (please submit front and back of the license)

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
