Tasks
In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we are shaping the automotive generations of the future. By this we mean innovative products of the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure the Mercedes-Benz Group's technological leadership in the future.


Exhaust gas temperatures of up to 860°C, rotation speeds of up to 235,000 rpm, charge pressures of up to 3 bar.

These alone are fascinating parameters, but by no means everything you need to know about diesel exhaust gas turbochargers.
The team is responsible for the mechanical development and testing of turbocharger technologies for all Mercedes-Benz passenger car engines. This includes the entire development process from conceptual design for future engine projects to market launch.

In your internship with a preferred duration of 6 months, you will get the opportunity to work closely shoulder to shoulder in the entire development process.


Your tasks include:

  • Component support for exhaust gas turbochargers and peripheral parts on the engine and in the vehicle
  • Evaluation of components in test and bench endurance runs
  • Engine data analysis to evaluate the test results of test components
  • Collaboration in the creation of test bench programs for the testing of exhaust gas turbochargers
  • Disassembly and diagnosis of test parts
  • Independent organization of component diagnosis

Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or comparable field of study
  • Advanced knowledge from the course of study
  • IT knowledge in MS Office
  • German and English spoken and written
  • Driving license class B:
  • Openmindedness, commitment, personal responsibility, high degree of independence and analytical thinking skills
  • Preferred duration of the internship: 6 months
