Your tasks


As the Global Head Mechanical Engineering Head up Display (M/F/diverse) you will be leading the worldwide mechanical engineering (ME) team of the PDC within the business area (BA) user experience (UX).

Give direction to the global ME team and organize global synergies and standard processes. Manage internal and external customer-relationships for ME. Define and manage the ME technology roadmap in relation with segments and core development. Organize and supervise multi-site mechanical engineering, including low-cost development locations. Identification and lead of suppliers and stakeholders within the own area.

You will have global responsibility across all regions.

You will be leading leaders directly and indirectly.

Visibility for BA management and OEM customers is also part of your responsibilities.

Your tasks will also focus on the following activities:

  • Define and execute the worldwide ME strategy of PDC
  • Define and execute ME targets, processes, and tools within PDC worldwide
  • Find and drive worldwide synergies within the MEprojects of PDC
  • Steering and optimize efficiency of the Best Cost activities within ME of PDC
  • Lead, support and develop dedicated employees of PDC ME (disciplinary within BBU and functional worldwide)
  • Worldwide resource management and priority management
  • Leading of needed task forces
  • Take care that the right ME resources are available for the projects in time
  • Minimize the MEdevelopment efforts as well as ME product cost
  • Negotiation of ME changes with customer and supplier
  • Target agreement on ME development cost and ME product cost
  • Representation of PDC ME externally (customer, supplier, exhibitions...) and internally
  • Network building with customer, supplier, other PDC's and locations world
  • Interface to CD ME to leverage standards and align methods across PDCs
  • Negotiation of technical solutions and platforms with the customers
  • Acquisition and customer presentation of offered concepts
  • Control of ME related reviews, milestones etc.
  • Decision of technical PDC ME concepts for allocated projects
  • Responsible for the ME PLC
  • Take care regarding the ME related Q-Gates/MLC-Stati
  • Influence and control the use of lessons learned process and the execution of FMEA
  • Support and drive to reach the Qtargets (0km and field claims)
  • Actively participate in the development of production roadmaps

Profile:


  • Academic degree in mechanical engineering, optics, mechatronics or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in complex 3Dmechanical design development
  • Multiannual years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Long years of experience in leading international teams
  • Experience in rampingup/ organizing multiside engineering, toolmaking and molding incl. lowcost locations
  • Knowledge and know how in the industry / client (strategies, technologies, business perspectives) and knowledge in interaction of all technical competencies
  • Knowledge in system architecture of electronics, electrics, mechatronics and optics
  • Knowledge in system architecture in mechanics and mechatronics
  • Knowledge in interaction of all technical competencies
  • Specific know how of complex products of the complete BU HMI portfolio, including the needed production processes
  • In depth understanding of automotive projects and related production processes for complex HUD projects
  • Business fluent German and English language skills
  • Managing performance to deliver high quality results within timeframe and budget
  • Visionary competence to define strategic orientation and drive the needed changes
  • Managing international development teams to achieve effective relationship
  • Understanding the culture of international teams
