Your Mission:


As Working student Finance in the Back office, you will work on a selection of tasks ranging from special projects to supporting the back office with daily operations & administration - making sure our back office processes are compliant & run smoothly and efficient.

The back office of lemon.markets is the backbone of lemon.markets and is identifying, measuring and assessing risks and the profitability of the company on a daily basis.

These projects & tasks are vital to the business's success and compliance with regulations and require a high degree of flexibility, diligence & organizational talent as priorities in an early stage company evolve quickly.

Your Tasks:


You will not only support the Back office on various day-to-day operational tasks & projects within Finance, Risk, Compliance & AML, but also develop processes further within the various back office functions by questioning existing processes and not shying away from breaking new ground, advocating for digitalisation & efficiency where possible.


Finance department:

- support in all areas of financial accounting and e.g. create outgoing invoices, check incoming invoices and prepare the monthly financial statements
- work closely with our finance team on financial planning and analysis


Risk management:

- support with checking regulatory compliance and the implementation of regulations
- conduct investigation of market developments & data


Compliance & AML:

- check confidentiality agreements, processing watch / restricted list(s) or support with checking suspicious transactions
- help with partner and customer reviews in day-to-day business


Who are you:

You are currently enrolled within a business administration or a similar finance-related degree program
-
You are fluent in written and spoken German and English and bring experience in working with the Microsoft Office suite and Google programs.

You have gained hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. You understand what working in a startup or a similar lean organisation is like. Ideally, you have worked in an early-stage startup, fintech, consulting, tech company or similar.

You are ready and willing to take ownership. "This is not my job" is not part of your vocabulary - you identify problems, take initiative to take them on, and challenge the status quo.

You cope well with frequent change and ambiguity. Changing tasks & requirements excite you. You are able to think logically, break down complex problems and prioritise between multiple tasks on your table.

You have a hands-on mentality. You default into action, want to gather first learnings fast, and iterate on the progress along the way.

You are a team player. Working together as a team and sharing knowledge comes naturally to you.
