In the Functional Materials Group of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ilmenau University of Technology (TU Ilmenau, Germany) is a vacancy for two

doctoral students (f/m/d)

as soon as possible.

Your tasks

You can choose one or two of the following topics:

Exploring ink rheology control and optimizing printing parameters for stretchable materials.
Formulating stretchable adhesives for bonding rigid components on stretchable substrates.
Designing and 3D printing multidimensional resistive/capacitive sensors with high sensitivity and low hysteresis.
Creating electrical circuits that maintain low resistance even under high strain, enabling bendable displays.
Harnessing the potential of soft elastomer foam to design and fabricate artificial muscles.
Integrating sensors and actuators into a soft robot gripper, mounted on a flexible circuit, for computerized control and feedback.

Profile:

For being part of the selection process is needed:

A master degree or equivalent degree in a relevant field, such as materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
Experiences in materials formulation, or 3D printing, or flexible electronics.

Following competences are desirable:

Excellent problemsolving skills and willingness to show great commitment.
Effective English written and oral communication skills
