TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform the manufacturing functions related to metal working dies and tool making.They are responsible for completing all assignments to construct, modify and condition metal working dies and may fabricate new gages, cutting or forming tools and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications.
They perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions; recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered; and solve problems relating to unusual materials, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.
Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
your main tasks:
- Management & cost center responsibility of the Conditioning, Ramp Up & Processes division
- Project responsibility in the mentioned areas (tracking of deadlines, costs and quality)
- Driving efficiency during the conditioning and rampup process
- Sustainable transfer of projects to the production departments
- Technical and disciplinary management of employees (employee development)
- Implementation and optimization of future tool concepts and the associated procedures (tool and process optimization)
- Optimize process standards (SWI) & introduce continuous improvement (CIP)
- Responsibility for COPQ in the rampup area
- Implement time to market and first time right of projects
- Ensure product releases and their quality in Conditioning
- Tool handovers to the production departments
- Innovative thinking and proactive action (agility)
- Crossdepartmental cooperation with product development, quality and production, as well as all adjacent areas
your profile:
- Successful training as a master craftsman or technician (M/F/d) in the field of mechanical engineering or forming technology
- Relevant professional experience and competence in the field of new tool construction
- Experience/knowledge in the design and development of progressive dies would be advantageous (CAD knowledge Pro/E Creo)
- Leadership skills
- Six Sigma training advantageous
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Good PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook...)
- Independent, conscientious and responsible working style
- High selfmotivation and proactive action
- Team spirit
