We are seeking a motivated PhD student/research assistant to join our team at the
Institute for Medical Virology, starting from July 1st 2023.

The laboratory is part of the Institute for Medical Virology. The position is established into the Lung Research Group under the leadership of Dr. med. Sinem Koc-Günel. The focus of the group is cell-based 2D/3D lung models and viral lung infections.

You will be working in an interdisciplinary research environment and international network, using innovative techniques such as cell reprogramming (induced pluripotent stem cells), cell differentiation and organoid work.


PORJECT DESCRIPTION:


  • Building, optimizing and functionally analyzing 2D/3D cellbased models of the lung
  • IPSC (induced pluripotent stem cells) work and differentiation
  • Working with Coronaviruses / Influenza A (S2/3 Level)
  • Coordination of project tasks (planning and conducting experiments, writing protocols/manuscripts)

WE EXPECT:


  • Masters's degree in Life sciences (biology / cell biology / molecular biology / virology / immunology)
  • Solid background in cell culturing and molecular biology
  • Research experience in lung research and/or RNAsequencing and bioinformatics analysis is considered a plus
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Due to legal regulation, a valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required.
