As a Customer Optimization intern you will work on projects and strategic initiatives to drive improvements within the Customer Optimization team and for AWS customers.

The Customer Optimization team act as a trusted advisors to AWS customers to help them optimize their AWS costs, by engaging with a wide range of customer stakeholders including Enterprise IT, Operations, and Finance teams to implement best practices for cloud adoption and cost savings.

This includes generating and providing recommendations on how customers can optimize their AWS usage, training customers on AWS management tools, and helping customers to manage their AWS fleet.

Specialists proactively monitor customer cost optimization health, and engage customers in conjunction with sellers and sometimes other AWS teams.


You should be a self-starter, comfortable working directly with customers, possess exceptional organizational skills, capable of creating simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems, and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyze large data sets and simplify complex data
  • Strong interest in working with, and/or having knowledge of cloud computing and existing cloud technologies
  • A selfstarter with an ability to operate in a dynamic and matrixed environment and drive customer engagements to resolution
