The job is a member of the Frankfurt Cargo Sales team.

In this position, you provide internal customer service & sales support for all Cargo customers, Cargo Account Executives and Cargo Sales Managers.


What you'll do:


  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure that capacity is optimized on each flight
  • Act as first point of contact for forwarders and general public and handle all of their enquires
  • Analyze cargo booking requests for highest revenue potential using a range of tools, responding to customer queries, complaints, capacity requests on the phone and offering advice (written & verbal) on the carriage of all potential shipments including Dangerous Goods, Live Animals, Express products, High Value, temperature controlled shipments and Human Remains
  • Monitor acceptance, planning and accommodation of all American Airlines Cargo products
  • Liaise between departments (Outside Sales, Operations, General Sales Agents (GSAs), Interline, Handling Companies and Service providers) and overseeing Interline operation with close communication
  • Interface with other American Airlines stations and various GSAs, as well as with local and U.S. operations team members where necessary to provide enhanced customer service
  • In support with Cargo Contact Center, trace shipments and provide customer updates on missing, damaged and delayed shipments
  • Provide mail post flights and collecting data for mail reports as well as conduct relevant administrative duties, e.g. complete various reports (usage report, allocations, etc.)
  • Proactively provide flight information and follow up to all customers
  • Deal with interline requests and provide follow up for customers (other airlines)
  • Assist with special projects from HDQ and local management team
  • Manage and coordinate trucks Domestic and International

All you'll need for success:

**Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Prior Job Experience*
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the airfreight industry and the appreciation of the need to provide high quality customer service
  • Customer
- and Sales-orientated and able to prioritize work accordingly against a back drop of a constantly changing business environment

  • Reservation System knowledge and PC Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Have a good understanding of pricing and the need to maximize revenue
  • Be well organized and methodical
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative, high flexibility, selfmotivation and creativity
  • Be friendly and sociable
  • The ability to communicate well and effectively in both spoken and written
    English and German at all levels within the organization as well as building relationships with customers

  • Education & Prior Job Experience*
  • Previous freight forwarder or airline cargo experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the freight market, freight handling and customer procedures
- iCargo knowledge
