Senior Scientist - Research Immuno-Oncology (M/F/d)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate in a team with biologists, chemists, data scientists, clinicians, pharmacologists across Bayer ́s pharmaceutical division, with contract research organizations as well as with external academic partners, e.g. collaboration with Joint Immunotherapy Laboratory at the DKFZ (Heidelberg)
Follow continuously scientific developments in the field and propose innovative solutions to problems utilizing scientific creativity and proficiency with focus in Immuno-Oncology
Participate in the evaluation of external assets and licensing opportunities
Work with geneticallymodified, radioactively labelled and infectious material, as well as animal experiments and comply to legal requirements and regulations (as applicable: Gentechnik, Biostoffverordnung, Infektionsschutzgesetz, Tierversuchserlaubnis)
Support and supervise technicians (M/F/d), master students (M/F/d) and interns (M/F/d), knowledge transfer and training in the field of Immuno-Oncological background and instruction for new methods and techniques in the field

WHO YOU ARE

PhD in Immunology, Biology, Pharmacology or in related fields, MD-PhD in Immunology is a plus
Expert knowledge in Immuno-Oncology, Immunology and Cancer Biology and several years of experience in working in PostDoc position(s) in the field of Immuno-Oncology, as well as longterm workexperience in a pharmaceutical or biotech company in the field of Immuno-Oncology
Worked in highprofile laboratories with previous experience in leading project teams associated with clear project management and leadership skills, drive projects to deliver results timely and ability to motivate teams
Sense of responsibility and urgency and ability to adapt to a dynamic research environment, creative and flexible thinking, with excellent organizational skills and expertise to instruct and train staff
Knowledge in pharmaceutical drug discovery and development including basic understanding of DMPK and modelling and simulation, safety and generation and optimization of SMOL and/or biologics
Knowledge in characterizing and pharmacological evaluation of therapeutic drug molecules in preclinical disease models with a track record in publishing in highranking journals, translational expertise including pharmacodynamic and enrichment biomarker identification, initial experience in global project teams in preclinical and clinical development is a plus and a strong experience in a variety of techniques of cellular and molecular biology, flow cytometry and experience with in human multicellular in vitro / ex vivo and mouse in vivo models
Ability to work in teams as well as independently
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English
