Director Global Supply Chain Excellence (f/m/d)

What you can expect:


  • Global ownership of Supply Chain Process & Systems. Lead a team for the implementation of Supply Chain strategy and the Project Management Office (PMO) for the Supply Chain Transformation Program
  • Responsible for strategic project planning and associated goal setting for projects in Supply Chain, with an emphasis on technology enabled transformation programmes
  • Facilitate and maintain a mid / long range strategy with the supply chain steering committee
  • Develop a Digital roadmap for Supply Chain using advanced technologies on the market
  • Sponsor and lead strategic projects and the associated change management securing completion on time and on budget with a high degree of acceptance
  • Providing oversight over projects from idea to execution, securing and managing project budgets and ensuring successful delivery
  • Responsible for the prioritisation of projects and aligning the project portfolio by maintaining a Supply Chain roadmap in alignment with the overall strategic and operational targets set for the company
  • Leading multiple teams of direct reports and cross functional matrix teams through constant and clear communication, strong leadership and development of relationships
  • Maintain oversight over all Supply Chain global process areas ensuring design, modelling, execution, monitoring and optimization, enabling the organization to be more efficient, effective and more capable of change. Maintain process oversight and process improvements
  • Lead the building of LEAN culture within Supply Chain organisation and conduct process harmonization reviews based on an endtoend process mapping. Setup and maintain a continuous improvement culture providing effective and measured results
  • Sponsorship of the Project Management Office (PMO) for Supply Chain
  • Maintain oversight over all projects in the portfolio, ensuring discipline in execution. Liaise with Project Managers to make sure their scope of activities is correctly understood and reflected in the PMO process
  • Monitoring the execution and progress of the projects. Support Project Managers to identify risks and followup on escalations
  • Data domain owner for Supply Chain data
  • Be the key link with the Information Technology organisation for any systems changes related to Processes and Data
  • Monitoring the execution of contracts and agreements with external service providers and holding partners accountable for delivery
  • Be responsible for the KPI Team to manage the weekly / monthly publication of supply chain metrics and the development of additional KPIs and analytics as necessary. Challenge the organisation to adopt additional metrics to effectively monitor performance and ensure effective delivery and adoption
  • Remain current with market trends through relationships with suppliers and market experts; identify and communicate new technologies and solutions to key problems in the systems area
  • Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies
  • Management of Supply Chain Excellence budget

Who we are looking for:


  • Business degree/diploma from College or University
  • Fluent in German and English
  • At least 10+ years of international work experience in the area of Supply Chain Management preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
  • A foundation in SAP technology or functional area and a minimum of 3 end to end SAP program engagements with specific experience of business transformation programs within the Life Sciences market sector
  • Possess a good understanding of the specific challenges in the Life Sciences industry in a heavily regulated environment
  • Strong leader to bring innovative ideas to fruition and drive process adherence through competency, dedication and ability to motivate.
  • Selfdirected individual with a strong independent problem solving approach
  • Well developed analytical, conceptual and communication skills
  • Customerorientated behaviour with a highly dedicated commitment and a high sense of flexibility
  • Wellgrounded understanding of Supply Chain processes combined with a solutionoriented attitude
  • Experience in project work as well as a strong ability to lead and work in a team
  • Advanced proficiency in IT landscapes with a good knowledge in SAP
  • Willingness to travel
