Dieter William Joenssen_ at the _School for Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science_ in supporting the development of three strategic fields of action:
artificial intelligence, digitalization and sustainability we are looking for three

Academic Staff Members (M/F/d
- full time (39,5 h/week)

Research together in a team on the pressing questions of humanity, develop solutions and bring the transfer into teaching to life.

How can we change the paradigm? Your goal is sustainability. Conserving resources, keeping an eye on efficiency. Implementing this through digitization and AI in mechan-ical engineering is the question for the next century.

Your tasks:

Collaboration in the Research Center for Complex Systems at the Aalen School for Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science
Depending on task focus:
Research and development of databased solutions and products
Application in and for subareas of sustainability (e.g. recycle, reduce, reuse)
Preparation of scientific publications
Representation of research results in the international community
Participation in international conferences
Transfer of research into lecture series for the school

Your profile:

Depending on the focus: a passion for data, AI, digitalization, or sustainability
Thirst for knowledge and the urge to develop new things
Programming skills in a relevant highlevel language.
Completed Master's degree in a relevant field of study (mechanical engineering, computer science, math, statistics etc.) for PhD students. PhD for postdoc students
Independent working style, ability to work in a team and to conduct high quality research
Good command of written and spoken English
German language skills are helpful but not required

The position is initially limited to 3 years, but can in principle be extended to up to 6 years and is in principle divisible.

The position will be graded up to pay group 13 of the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L) if the legal and personal requirements are met.
