Wondery, an Amazon company, is a premium podcast studio known for character-driven, binge-worthy stories including Dr.

Death, The Shrink Next Door, Even the Rich and Business Wars, and distribution of hit partner shows SmartLess, My Favorite Murder, Morbid and How I Built This.

Wondery was behind eight of the "Top 25 New Shows of 2021", according to Podtrac, including #1 (The Apology Line) and #2 (Suspect).

Over 45 shows from Wondery have hit #1 on Apple Podcasts including Scamfluencers and Twin Flames. Many Wondery podcasts have been adapted for scripted television or streaming series, including Dr. Death and Joe vs Carole on Peacock and The Shrink Next Door and WeCrashed on Apple TV+. Wondery has gained critical acclaim and commercial success for its immersive approach to sonic, emotionally driven storytelling.

Wondery are hiring for a Senior Sales Executive, reporting into the Regional Commercial Lead, EU.

You will be responsible for executing a sales strategy to drive revenue opportunities for Wondery and Amazon Music Podcasts and additional third party podcast inventory.

The role is ideal for someone who has experience in a fast moving digital media environment and has a track record of forming new, and building sustaining relationships with agencies and clients.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and executea gotomarket sales strategy to generate revenue across podcast inventory including sponsorships, host reads, producer reads, spot and programmatic sales as well as develop custom solutions for clients
  • Build, and mentor a DE based podcast sales team (and support staff) to deliver revenue targets
  • Set sales team goals, assign accounts and categories, manage the pipeline, and establish strategic partnerships working closely with major agencies and brands to develop unique, lasting advertising opportunities in the podcast space
  • Work closely with the content team to provide market insights and maintain full insight into the content slate
  • Develop partnerships with agencies and brands to create advertising opportunities in the podcast space
  • Work closely with international and internal sales teams to maximize revenue and ensure a consistency around our sales strategy
  • Establish pricing and sales processes to delight our clients
  • Maintain reporting and forecasting
  • Podcast Advertising sales experience
  • Experience leading high performing sales teams and consistently exceeding targets
  • Knowledge of programmatic advertising and international media sales experience
  • Network of agency/brand contacts and relationships
  • Digital media sales experience working with agencies and direct to brand, preferably in audio
  • Experience of nurturing and growing complex and large client accounts
  • Ability to influence senior executives
