We are currently supporting TREEO / Fairventures Digital GmbH, their vision for TREEO stems from 8 years of tree planting experience in Indonesia and Uganda, where together with a very ambitious team they were able to plant more than 1 million trees.

As they worked towards this success, they recognised the difficulty of accurately monitoring CO2 sequestration to prove their impact. TREEO is their solution. TREEO collects monitoring data from each tree, providing the confidence and transparency needed for smallholders to commercialise carbon removals. This empowers local communities to regenerate the earth while generating new revenue. They will continue the mission to mitigate climate change together

Aufgaben


We are now looking for a Head of Finance / Lead Finance Manager who will manage TREEO's financial area at a second management level, but in constant interaction with the managing directors, and make it scalable for the future.

You will have a lot of freedom to develop and implement your plans in your area.

Your projects

Preparation and controlling of financial planning

  • Prepare and maintain financial forecasts (including the annual budget and mediumterm business plan) in consultation with the Country Representative and Senior Management Team.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and support the Country Representative in designing and implementing appropriate financial instruments and manuals, design appropriate financial due diligence procedures for projects and conduct a financial evaluation of these projects.
Financial Reporting and Reporting and Accounting


Prepare effective financial reporting (including monthly project budget variance reports, financial performance and financial position reports and cash flows for internal and external clients)); Preparation of accounting (internally with Datev).

Legal & HR

Preparation of contracts with clients and investors. Preparation and adaptation of employment and service contracts. Payroll (via third-party providers), tracking of leave & salary payment.

Administration & Treasury

  • Oversee and manage the daytoday tasks of the finance and administration department, including payroll and contracting.
  • Manage cash flow, monitor weekly payments and approve general ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Monitor procurement systems and ensure prompt payments from supplies and service providers
  • Ensure adequate preparation for external audits

Ensure compliance with laws and rules

  • Ensure compliance with relevant local labour regulations
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of taxes (KSt/GewSt and USt) and national social security contributions to government authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, national legal obligations
Qualifikation

  • Completed vocational training or studies in the field of finance with at least 3 years of professional experience (tax clerk / or comparable training with advanced training as tax specialist or similar
  • Master / Bachelor of Arts in the field of finance or Master / Bachelor of Laws)
  • Good organisational skills, general knowledge in the area of laws / taxes / law necessary;
  • Reliable and accurate way of working
Experience / ability in budgeting, cash flow forecasting and financial analysis and monitoring. Experience in procurement and human resources

  • Good analytical and conceptual skills desired
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Interest in promoting environmental, social and economic improvements among smallholder farmers
  • Professional, cooperative, efficient and effective work attitude
  • Must have a valid work permit
