The position:


  • Contribute to, and participate in a Research and Development (R&D) project, interact with technical staff, the HIBEF user consortium, and instrument scientists
  • Take part in the operation of the HED instrument related to target delivery. Support HED instrument scientists in running user experiments, including shift work
  • Plan and perform R&D on high repetition rate solid target delivery, alignment, and related tasks. This includes
- a) linking a Karabo frontend to a master database and testing the system on real hardware,
- b) alignment automation of samples using white light interferometry, and
- c) implementation of deterministic motion with high repetition rate at the HED instrument.

  • Preferably, the development of high repetition rate target delivery should be driven by personal research interests or collaborative projects with our user community

Requirements:


  • A PhDdegree in experimental physics or equivalent
  • Expertise in laserplasma, highpressure, or other dense plasma science
  • Knowledge on relevant techniques, such as synchrotron, optical laser, or XFEL based alignment procedures, interferometry, xray diffraction or imaging is an asset
  • Passionate about working on cutting edge creative science in a competent working environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multilingual, multidisciplinary team with good written and oral English skills
  • A structured and selfreliant work mode
