LOCATION- Barnstorf, Germany- STARTING DATE- 15-Aug-2023- CONTRACT TYPE- Internship- DEPARTMENT- Other- WORKING HOURS- Full-time- REFERENCE CODE What you can expect- What you can expect- What you can expect - text- During your full-time internship with a duration of 3-6 months you work within Wintershall Dea ́s Digital Rocks team at the Technology & Service Center to predict properties from our rock image database.


Exciting insights and tasks are waiting for you:

  • Learn and extend our image processing and analysis tools to generate 3D rock micro-models for simulation of fluid flow
  • Collaborate with Wintershall Dea ́s data science experts to build on our existing platforms for machine learning
  • Combine visits to our Kassel/Hamburg offices and Barnstorf lab sites with remote online work in a flexible way
  • Put into practice your studies to help us more efficiently recover gas and store CO2 in our reservoirs worldwide

  • Final year Bachelor or Masters student in computer science, data science, physics, mathematics or related discipline
  • Experience with image processing and analysis
  • Working knowledge of machine learning
  • Coding and programming skills using e.g. Python, NumPy, Linux, C, C++ or MATLAB
  • Fluency in English, oral and written (German language skills are a plus)
