"Modeling and simulation of droplet explosions in materials synthesis".

Stellenbeschreibung

In this position, you will take reactive spray technology to the next level and create models for nanoparticle fabrication. The basis is flame spray systems for the synthesis of novel metastable binary and/or complex multimetal sulfides/nitrides. You will create single droplet models that represent reaction conditions, reaction kinetics, and explosion phenomena.

What we offer:

You will have the opportunity to work independently in innovative research areas such as reactive spray technologies under close guidance from experts in their field.

You will work on establishing a cutting-edge technology using modern simulation techniques.

As part of your research work, you will have intensive contact with national and international research institutions and universities through collaborations, visits and conferences.

We offer a team-oriented, future

Voraussetzungen

You have a Ph.
D. in engineering or science with a focus on chemical engineering or even chemical and materials engineering. You have experience with modeling and simulation of disperse multiphase flows, mass transfer, and heat transfer. Knowledge in the field of aerosol technology and particle simulation would also be desirable. Very good knowledge in different programming languages and with fluid dynamic simulation tools is necessary.

  • Completed PhD in materials science, chemistry and engineering, and/or physics.
  • Indepth knowledge in the areas of disperse (particles, droplets, bubbles) multiphase flow. Knowledge of aerosol combustion, solution chemistry, laser spectroscopy, and material characterization techniques is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of programming.
  • Knowledge of reactor design/packaging is an advantage
  • Excellent academic record and ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with communication skills in German helpful
