Your Tasks

- research within a PhD project in one of the research areas of the IRTG (60 %)
- successful participation in the structured course program (15 %)
- research during a six-months research stay at Seoul National University (15 %)
- reports about the research progress (10 %)

The International Research Training Group IRTG 2235 is a joint research program established by the Faculty of Mathematics at Bielefeld University and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University.

In a truly international and competitive environment, doctoral students work on research projects from the mathematical field of Analysis including Geometric, Stochastic and Numerical Analysis together with latest developments in neighboring fields such as Mathematical Physics and Probability Theory.

Topics include stochastic dynamics, stochastic partial differential equations, machine learning, nonlinear wave equations, integro-differential equations, random matrices, generalized Dirichlet forms, analysis on manifolds and fractal metric spaces.

Employments are conductive to scientific qualification.
Your Profile

We expect
- an excellent Master degree (or a substantive equivalent degree) in Mathematics, Mathematical Physics or a neighboring field
- proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- good communication skills

We offer

- salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L
- fixed-term (3 years sentence 1 of the WissZeitVG; in accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases)
