About the job


We are now looking to recruit a manager with experience in to lead a department consisting of highly specialized engineers, focusing on Electrical Infrastructure.

The department holds competences for High Voltage Electrical Engineering which form around the product of HV Cables, HVAC&HVDC Substations and Grid Integration.

Thereby all array cables and all grid connections to the Vattenfall Offshore portfolio are supported from here. The responsibility stretches along the full lifecycle and across the entire fleet of wind farms. Furthermore, the area leads the electrical integration of WTG and electrical equipment on Foundation to one wind farms system.

Together with the HV products the entire wind farms system is lead up to achieving the license to operation / Grid Code Compliance.

The new Manager Electrical Infrastructure refers to the Head of Project Delivery & Engineering, Business Unit, Offshore Wind.


BU Offshore Wind is part of Business Area Wind which is responsible for Vattenfall's Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like Solar and Batteries.

Today, we develop, construct and operate wind farms across Europe.

Project Delivery & Engineering is responsible for the development and execution of our construction projects.

Our vision is to be one step ahead of competition in safely constructing next generation offshore wind farms while deploying our knowledge already during the planning and contracting phases in order to secure successful project delivery.


As Project Delivery & Engineering, we are in the centre of making a fossil-free future become reality by delivering some of the largest infrastructure projects in the world safely, timely, of high quality and within budget in a complex and dynamic environment.

What will you do?


As the Engineering Head of Electrical Infrastructure, You will be the technical responsible for the complex area of grid integration comprising of the electrical engineering deliveries leading up to Grid Code Compliance of the plant.

The position includes leading activities across Electrical Infrastructure and engaging in / lead assignments across Engineering directed towards technical innovation, standardization of works, documentation, data collection & treatment, specifications, and requirements etc.


Further responsibilities include:

  • Leading the departments engineering activities towards both concept development, execution of projects and supporting Generation with engineering support.
  • Process Owner for various processes like electrical infrastructure development, Grid Code Compliance and Commissioning.
  • Interfacing with BU Onshore for Power & Grid Study support
  • Being Sponsor of different internal projects in Electrical Infrastructure and representative in Project Steering and Reference Groups

Profile:

Your Background

  • Master degree combined with MBA (commercial mindset) or PhD degree in a relevant field
  • Solid Management Experience from a complex and international organization.
  • Ability to manage international teams in several locations spread across 5 countries
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years' experience in the (offshore) wind industry and leading managers.
  • Deep understanding of all lifecycle phases of developing offshore assets.
  • Extensive understanding of Grid Infrastructure, HV Cables and Electrical System
  • Change Management experience incl. organisational development, culture changes etc.
  • Experience with Product Development
  • Experience in leadership of technical areas (Engineering/Operations)
  • Demonstratable leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to handle interfaces and collaborate across functions.
  • High degree of selfmotivation with a flexible approach to work.
  • Proven track record in a dynamic, fastgrowing organization
  • Fluency in English is required, Danish/German language skills an advantage.

Location

The Vattenfall location for this position is any of the main offices of Offshore Wind.
Frequent travel between our different locations is expected.
