Our employees conduct research in the fields of energy, environment, safety, health, communication and mobility.

In the department Energy Systems we are investigating the potential of local energy systems.

A special focus is the investigation of quarter concepts, which provide greater potentials for emission reduction and the use of efficiency advantages compared to the consideration of a single building.

For this purpose, we use different methods such as dynamic simulation or mathematical optimization.


What you will do
During your internship you will support our team in ongoing research projects.


Typical tasks include for example:

  • Programming of evaluation routines for the energetic assessment of local energy supply concepts
  • Setup and realization of own model calculations
  • Further development of data management concepts
  • Support administrative project tasks, such as documentation

What you bring to the table

  • Studies in the field of natural science or engineering with a background in energy technology
  • Programming skills in Python, especially in the area of data analysis and visualization are an advantage
  • Ideally basic knowledge of relevant technologies in the quarter context (heat grids, heat pumps, PV, storage,...)
  • The ability to develop own ideas and implement them independently
